Position Description:    

CCI is seeking a Public Health Analyst to support the Disability and Health Branch (DHB) in the National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia.  The NCBDD provides national leadership for preventing birth defects and development disabilities as well as improving the health and wellness of people with disabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Serve as NCBDDD’s representative to CDC’s Emergency Management Program

  • Coordinates emergency response staffing requests for EOC/Field Deployment

  • Tracks staff deployments in EOMS Time Tracker

  • Provide weekly reports to NCBDDD leadership

  • Participate in emergency preparedness meetings

  • Communicate compliance processes/guidance

  • Coordinate and present volunteer updates and guidance

  • Provide coverage for all EC meetings and DEO-lead planning processes

  • Coordinate NCBDDD participation in internal and external exercises

  • Coordinate NCBDDD SME review of CDC plans, annexes, and materials related to CDC response

  • Provide logistical support to NCBDDD staff

  • During Emergency Preparedness Month (September) emails staff weekly message aligned with FEMA’s theme for each week

  • Participate in monthly and weekly calls (i.e., task force, practice calls, preparedness, team meetings, workgroups etc.)

  • Coordinate working group quarterly conference calls including presenters, call reports and follow-ups


  • Bachelor’s Degree of equivalent experience;

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience providing technical assistance in a public health setting: federal, state or local level. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse subject matter experts.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to take initiative and work on tasks independently as well as collaboratively with diverse subject matter experts.

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to evolving priorities (multitasking).

  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
